i remember a yellow chevy by the curb skip leaning against the back fender waiting for my sister to go on a date, i was a young boy at that time @9 yrs old maybe 8, after they got married, i stayed so often with them that one time dad said why dont you just pack a bag and go, i remember the dark blue fast back baraccuda skip had, he sure loved that car. there are so many things, like when he wanted the tv in the wall, in the front room at larkdale, never ever seen that done before, he also had a nickname at firestone tire & rubber co it was "boots" . i remember sitting on his knee when i was young so maybe i was younger than 8, anyway as far back i look skip was there, im really sad that he is gone.

Well...wigs - short for wiggler - (special "goon squad" name for skip) - we're all gona miss ya...

Many - many fond mems of our trips to florida - skip & uncle BBB always stayed in the booze room - and the door was always open for a few late nighters...skip never got upset - no matter what time it was - he'd just get up - and ask us what kinda drink we wanted...

When we played golf - you never ever let skip drive the golf cart - unless you were an acrobat and could balance a beer without getting flung out of the cart.

We'll all miss ya buddy...

Hi Mary! Please know how very sorry I am for the loss of your husband. Even though we don't see each other or talk, I think of you from time to time as one of my oldest friends. Just think...lots of years have passed since the time we spent at Riverside Grade School. Our Eisenhower class of '63 gets together every month or two and many names are brought up, including yours. Again, Mary, please accept my most sincere condolences at this difficult time for your family. I would love to talk with you sometime to reminisce. God Bless and best personal regards!   Roe

 Dear Mary,

I was  so sorry to hear about Skips' passing.  We go back about 60 years and were very close friends

during our school years.  I know words will not ease the pain of losing Skip, but he was a very

SPECIAL GUY !!!

In these later years we were not together that often, but I can remember the earlier times when

we had a lot of fun and sometimes got in trouble.

I will miss him very much and my prayers are with you.

    Love Harold and Inge

Carly Henson I'm thinking of you September 5, 2011

Aunt Mary, Chris, Steve, Natalie and Jacob,

I'm so sorry.  When Steve called I walked around all day thinking of Uncle Skip.  Such a man of few words, and then to be saddled with a teenage girl that never shut up.......

I thought about him trying to teach me to drive the stick shift when I was 14 and having to go get a new clutch afterwards......or when we went strawberry picking and I looked like a war casualty and he just sat there smirking not knowing whether to step in or see if I could hold my own.

The last time I went home he and I were able to go to breafast together.  We talked about being married and how things change and he said that he hoped he went first cause he couldn't do it without Aunt Mary.  So, Uncle Skip being Uncle Skip, he said it, he did it, and it is so.

I'm so sorry I can't be there to hug your necks or to fill Chris's mouth up with dishwashing liquid, I miss you all very much.  Let me know if you need me......I love you,  Carly
